The Ramana Devi Ahimsa Natural Ecology Educational Programme for Children

What is Ahimsa

What is Ahimsa?

Ahimsa is the practice of non-violence in thoughts, words and actions. Its roots are in Hinduism, however it is a universal teaching for everyone.

The Ramana Devi Ahimsa Natural Ecology programme was developed by Ramana Ennis-Cole, CEO of the Shiva Trust Charity, after many years of research observing the interactions between children and their natural environments. This research took place in both the United Kingdom and India.

Observations led to carefully crafted lessons that include tools that lead a child to benefit from improved mental health, increased self-esteem and good self-care.

Why learn Ramana Devi Ahimsa?

From my point of view as a practitioner, I feel there is a lack of focus on educating children about themselves.

1 in 6 children in the UK suffer with poor mental health or behavioural disorders.

This programme offers a fun, creative, informative and holistic approach in teaching children to thrive in all areas of their lives:

  • mental
  • social
  • emotional
  • physical
  • spiritual

It will also help your children academically.
